Identifying your Mig Torch
Hobby Mig Torches (sometimes called Tops 100v) are fitted to a number of small DIY/hobby mig machines, including Clarke, SIP and some older Sealey Mig Welders. The key identifier is the screw on gas shroud.
Tops 100v Torch Head are easily confused with Type 15, the key difference is Type 15 Gas Shrouds are Twisted on to a Shroud Spring, rather than Screwed onto a Machined Thread.
Type 15 Mig Torches are usually Euro Fitting and fitted to professional and semi-professional mig welding machines of up to 200 amps output. A permanent fit version is also available and is called Type 14 or Plus 14, this version is typically fitted to semi-professional machines (SIP Topmig 170 - 196 for example). Head Spares are the SAME as Type 15. Some small DIY machines of around 150 amps (including Sealey but NOT Clarke or SIP), are fitted with Tops 140v valve torch. Tops 140v also uses the SAME head spares as Type 15.
Type 25 Mig Torches are usually Euro Fitting and are typically fitted to professional mig welding machines of up to 300 amps output.

Type 36 Mig Torches are usually Euro Fitting and are typically fitted to professional mig welding machines of up to 400 amps output.
